The teacher shortage is REAL and it is a massive issue! It is complex and I don’t believe there is a simple or easy fix. It is going to take a lot of work and take a long time to fix. However, there is one small thing you can do today to help and it will only take a few minutes.

Who was your favourite teacher? Who do you remember as being a great teacher? Have you told them? Do they know that they made such a huge impact on you? That THEY were YOUR favourite teacher?

Take 5 minutes NOW to see if you can track them down and let them know. Technology is great and most people can be ‘found’ pretty easily.

How about writing about them in your school newsletter or posting about them on your social media?

Whilst this might not seem like a BIG, audacious action, every little bit helps to acknowledge and highlight the importance of teachers and the difference that they make.

I know teaching is more challenging than it has ever been but if we can’t be advocates for our own profession, who will?
